My name is Mark Boerner

My love for art goes back to when I was a kid and music was on vinyl. The art on the album covers was phenomenal and influenced me a lot. Molly Hatchet was one of my favorites with all the Frank Frazetta art work.
I tattooed myself by hand at the age of 14 and started drawing all the time. I made a tattoo machine out of a cassette motor and did Tweety Bird with a striped suit and ball n chain on my leg and next thing you know everyone wanted a tattoo from me. That started my career that soon led me to meet some really good artists who were doing great portraits and crazy collages. I drew and tattooed every day I could. After graduating from the school of hard knocks one of my friends introduced me to the real world of tattooing with a real machine. It was like magic compared to a homemade machine. I tried to teach myself for a few years which I don’t recommend, then I met a real tattoo artist who said I needed to do an apprenticeship and was willing to help me sharpen my skills. He taught me the trade secrets of using the correct tools the right way and to draw every day. I found I didn’t know anything about tattooing and my art reached a new level. My inspirations were Cori Miller, Paul Booth, Bob Tyrrell, and Sailor Jerry. I have been in tattoo shops with all kinds of great artists for the last 15 years and every day I learn something new to put in my utility belt.

I like doing any and all kinds of tattoos. I really try giving all my clients exactly what they want and then some. My favorite things to tattoo include black and grey and color collages, color floral collages, modern traditional style, memorial tattoos, day of the dead imagery, religious tattoos, names and script writing, graffiti, custom sleeves and back pieces, animals, birds, trees, and sports logos to name a few. If you would like to get some work done by me please just click on my email link and drop me a line with your ideas and a cell phone number so I can get hold of you… Or just call the shop to make an appointment with me.

Thanks, Mark Boerner.
